If you ask nicely, they may allow it. So my dilemma is to take the chance and remain with Windows 7, replace 5 PC's, or find a way to get them upgraded to Windows 10 for free or minimal cost. It's true that if you stay with Windows 7, you won't get any further security upgrades from Microsoft. However you can continue to get security updates from free third-party security software that you should choose to use.
So if your risk goes up, it goes up only slightly. As far as I'm concerned, Windows 10 is a better choice than Windows 7, and that's a good reason to upgrade. Replacing the computers is not a good choice unless they are incompatible. Even if they are incompatible as I said, unlikely you may be able to do a hardware upgrade and replace the incompatible components rather than buying all new computers.
You can talk to Microsoft if you want to, but I caution you that they will undoubtedly say that you have to upgrade to A Microsoft representative will say that because he works for Microsoft.
